Lee Valley Athletics Centre Confirms With Old Barn Audio
Having worked with the White Water Centre as well as the Ice Centre, Old Barn Audio are pleased to now announce that Lee Valley Athletics Centre have confirmed once again with Old Barn Audio.
Having viewed the venue and discussed needs, we advised the best technical method would be to construct a multi-array point source system in the roof area similar to that installed at the Ice Centre. The general construction and height of the building lends itself to this solution, as there are no pillars or structures to impede or deflect sound from source to ground – however, it is understood there is a pole vault area that will need to use the maximum height available and be clear of any suspensions.
The system with be controlled via a Symetrix Radius, so zonal adjustments via tablet or wall panels will be available as with all other Lee Valley installs.
For the install, the following will be used:

- 10 x Martin Audio CDD12 speakers
- 10 x CDD12 yokes
- 2 x Martin Audio CDD10 speakers
- 2 x CDD10 yokes
- 4 x Martin Audio CSX118 sub-bass cabinets
- 1 x Symetrix Radius
- 1 x Powersoft K3 amplifier
- 2 x Crown XLS2502 power amplifier (8 x CDD12)
- 1 x Crown XLS 2502 power amplifier (2 x CDD12 + 2 x CDD10)
We gave them a choice of systems to be used. They went with the system we recommended which is very similar to the system we designed for the Ice Centre, which has exceptional sound.
