Christ Church Upgrades with Martin Audio AQ Series

Christ Church in Brockham Green have invested fully and embraced the Martin Audio AQ range of install speakers. Having asked Old Barn Audio to design a system, it was the only natural choice, for Neil Kavanagh of Old Barn Audio, to use the Martin Audio AQ speaker.
Covering the the Chancel, an array of 5 x Martin Audio AQ5 speakers were specified due to the discreet size against power, but also due to the neutral tones of the buff grey.
Having such wide horizontal dispersion meant the array compliment was kept to a minimum.
The Nave, however, utilised 6 x Martin Audio AQ8 speakers but this time in black so they would be hidden against the ancient darkened oak roof trusses. This main array has three pairs of speakers delayed down the church and zoned accordingly. Both areas are powered by Crown amplifiers.
Keeping it in the Loud Technologies group, the control and mixing functions of this new system is carried out by a Mackie DL32R rack mounted wi-fi mixer. Due to many constraints in grade I and grade II buildings, the use of wi-fi has enabled many systems to be installed very quickly with little cabling and damage to the building being caused by installing large multi-core cables for worship bands, etc.
Adding a modern and twist to installations as technology moves in is a brave decision by vicars, but the financial benefits are showing through.
