Lee Valley Athletics Centre - Sound Systems For Sporting Venues

Work is progressing very well with the Lee Valley Athletics Centre sound system installation, in Edmonton, North London. Phil, Neil, Luke and Dave started the project last Friday and they needed the area clear while they were working. So it was imperative that the main part of the install was completed within one day. So they started work around 6.30am and finished about 8.30pm. Whilst working, however, there were distant sightings of some extremely competent and fit athletes, who came into the centre to train around the edges of the stadium!

A 30 metre truss has now been installed into the arena, along with 16 Martin Audio speakers. On this the Old Barn guys have installed the following:

10 x Martin Audio CDD12 speakers
2 x Martin Audio CDD10 speakers
4 x Martin Audio CSX118 sub-bass cabinets

This is a great project for Old Barn to work on; not least the fact the guys were surrounded by top athletes, but they were at points, 7 metres above the ground on a cherry picker, once the truss was in its correct position! A challenge indeed…

So the next stages are to get the Symetrix Radius processor programmed today, so the speakers can be controlled by the installed wall panel. Then Phil and Dan are off up there again on Friday to complete the 2nd fix.

Lee Valley Athletics Centre will soon have an equivalent high spec sound system as it’s neighbouring Lee Valley Ice Centre and the White Water Centre.
