Queens Club in Shenzhen Install Martin Audio LM

After months of negotiations, Old Barn Audio were asked to install the Martin Audio system in The Queen Club, Shenzhen.  The system was designed, despite the trend for Martin Audio F15+ and Martin Audio S218+, around the Martin Audio LM line array system.  Breaking with tradition, and to offer clients a smoother high-powered sound, Phil Clark of Old Barn Audio designed the system around six drops of Martin Audio LM.  Each drop contained three Martin Audio W8LMI and one Martin Audio W8LMDI.

Arrayed in three lines across the nightclub, the six drops of Martin Audio LM offered 113db of SPL in the centre of the dance-floor only dipping to 110db on the periphery.  These sorts of figures, when measured against the nearest rival nightclub of 99db, are just mind-blowing.

The bass was catered for by eight Martin Audio WS218X sub enclosures.  Four of which were under the stage by the DJ with the remaining four at the front of the dance-floor arrayed to the rear of the venue.  The DJ monitors, comprising of a pair of Martin Audio LE1500 wedge monitors, were flown from the ceiling pointing down onto the DJ booth to allow for a completely clean line to the stage area but still offering high SPL monitoring that DJ’s crave!

The entire system was powered by two Martin Audio MA12k and seven Martin Audio MA5.2k amplifiers. The control was by three XTA DP448 controllers allowing for full delay lines and zoned control.

The overall dispersion, both horizontally and vertically, was outstanding.  Having the correct splays on the arrays allowed no further delays to cover the top of, or underneath, the balcony.
