Salesian College, Farnborough Upgrade Fully to Martin Audio
After a very successful installation at Salesian College back in the summer of 2013, in their brand new music block, Old Barn Audio were again tasked, just before Christmas, to design, supply and install a brand new Martin Audio system in their main school hall.
After receiving the brief from the college, It was agreed that 6 x Martin Audio AQ12’s would be deployed, three down each side of the hall, and time aligned accordingly. The equi-spaced speakers offered seamless audio throughout the hall from the very front of the stage area to the very back seats.
In the overspill area, which is the gym at the rear of the hall, the existing RCF cabinets were fully installed and time aligned even further as the entire area now stretched to 38m long!
The system was enhanced with a single Martin Audio S15+ which extended the usable frequency down to 45Hz for school disco’s, music events and school theatrical performances. A plug-in point was installed for the Martin Audio S15+ for when the sub was used and, for storage, a bespoke wheeled flight-case was supplied to house the Martin Audio S15+ when not in use.
The whole system was controlled by a Martin Audio 418 Engineer and remote to offer full equalisation, crossover, limiting and delay capabilities. Once the room had been analysed, all global equalisation was locked inside the Martin Audio Engineer to offer continuous faultless service.
Lastly, the system was powered entirely by Martin Audio MA1.4 amplifiers to offer continuity and a balanced audio chain. All staff and teachers were mightily impressed with the tone, power and performance of the new system.
