Chris Packham – Audio & Lighting Technician

We are delighted to welcome Chris Packham to Old Barn Audio, as our new Audio & Lighting Technician. Chris brings with him, a wealth of knowledge in both audio and lighting.

Background

Chris gained his knowledge at East 15 Acting School, receiving an FDA in Stage Management & Technical Theatre.

He worked in the West End for many years, firstly for the Criterion Theatre, as a lighting operator for The Thirty Nine Steps. A committed position and crucial for the success of this long running and successful show. Then after 8 years he moved on to the phenomenal Phantom of The Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre as a Dayman Electrician. Ensuring all electrical issues within the building, stage & lighting were dealt with in a timely and efficient manner. Both these roles were high pressured positions and demanded great attention to detail, precision and accuracy.

Moving on to Bill Kenwright Ltd, a London theatre production company. Firstly as a sound technician, then a lighting technician and ultimately Head of Department in Windsor.

Chris then decided to strike out on his own and has since been working on a freelance basis as a lighting designer and audio technician, which has gained him experience in a more commercial market.

Joining Old Barn Audio

So he has now joined Old Barn Audio. He is a great fit for the company, having both sound and light experience. Lighting is his passion and he will be working on the many lighting design plans that are included in the audio installation projects Old Barn Audio are working on.

Directors, Phil & Neil are both very pleased to have Chris on board.

Neil is quoted saying “After a lengthy search, we are pleased to welcome Chris to the team. He brings with him a wealth of lighting knowledge & technical experience. We are excited to work with him on all our new projects, to meet the increasing demand of our services”
