Hillview School for Girls Use Martin Audio
The annual ‘Stars in their Eyes’ concert for Hillview School for Girls in Tonbridge was once again supported by Old Barn Audio who deployed a Martin Audio Wavefront system. The charity event to raise funds for the drama department is always a two-night sold out show where girls from years 7 to 13 showcase their singing and musical talents.
Old Barn Audio have supplied the sound system for this event for the past 10 years and, like all years, have installed a Martin Audio front of house system along with a Martin Audio stage monitoring system as well. This year, the Martin Audio WT3 Wavefront mid/hi along with a pair of Martin Audio WS218X was the system of choice due to the high rake of the theatre.
The vocal projection of the Martin Audio WT3 is also why this is the go-to box for many theatre productions the world over and this event was no exception. The monitoring was supplied by an array Martin Audio F10+ and Martin Audio F12+ all powered by Martin Audio MA12k, Martin Audio MA3.0 and Martin Audio MA2.8q amplifiers with XTA control.
With around 20 artists a night performing, from full bands to solo singers, it had to be a digital desk and, due to the small footprint, the Soundcraft Compact 32 was the desk of choice. The instant recall of all saved shows and scenes made this the perfect choice for the quantity of differing artist requirements.
Old Barn Audio are proud to be linked with this charity event and to support the local community. The talent was abundant on both nights with an ‘all-girl’ rock band closing the show on the second night to a standing ovation! Long may talent shine through…..!
