Weather Resistant Speakers by Martin Audio
Let’s face it, Old Barn Audio work in many industries. From schools to churches to sporting facilities to nightclubs. Yet one area we receive many enquiries in is for bars and restaurants. More and more, the traditional English pub has now moved away from selling only ale, and is now selling high quality food as well as providing live music or at the very least a good quality background music system. Many patrons are enjoying sitting outside as well as in and therefore these venues need to provide different options for sound systems, depending on whether they need weather resistant speakers, or just an internal speaker system.
Which is now why we have a great many projects behind us that have included weather proofed speakers, that can be installed outside and will also be resistant to a changing climate, giving great sound outside as well as within the venue.
Just a few examples of the work we have carried out:
The Terrace, Exeter
The Terrace, owned by Artigiano Group was a great job for Old Barn Audio. What started off as a really nice website enquiry became a really great job, working with a professional company, who were opening a new Exeter bar and restaurant in 2016. Along with all relevant anxilliaries, we installed:
- 10 x Martin Audio CDD10 speakers
- 4 x Martin Audio CDD12 speakers
- 10 x Martin Audio CDD5 Weather Resistant speakers
- 1 x Martin Audio CSX218 subwoofer
- 9 x OHM Ceiling Speakers
- 3 x Powersoft M28q amplifiers
- 1 x Powersoft K3 amplifier
- 1 x Powersoft M20d amplifier
- 1 x Symetrix Radius Processor
- 1 x 10″ Tablet
As you can see, there were 10 weather resistant speakers installed to the outside areas of The Terrace, ensuring that all live as well as background music was successfully transmitted through all locations within the bar and restaurant.
The Bottle Of Sauce, Cheltenham
Another chain of pubs and eateries, through the DoDo pub chain. A smaller project to work on, but with an equally effective outcome.

Here we installed 2 CDD5 weather resistant speakers, ensuring once again, that the sound was effective and controlled from within.
Boadicea, Colchester
This venue is a great new private hire club offering a top class dining experience. A stunning and historical venue which has been totally refurbished to create a spectacular Essex venue.

These are just a small handful of the projects we have successfully completed, using weather resistant speakers. And the enquiries are growing on a weekly basis.
