New Church Sound System Installation

One of Old Barn Audio’s specialities is church sound systems. With our expertise at induction loop systems, fitting a new speaker system to a church enables them to have excellent sound acoustics, enabling all parishioners to be able to hear sermons and talks in a clear and concise way.

Late last year, we carried out a new church sound system installation into St Peter and St Paul church in Charing, in Kent; this is a beautiful old church and is situated in the heart of the village, next to the remains of the Archbishop’s Palace. The west tower is over 600 years old and the rest of the church was rebuilt in the sixteenth century. It is always very humbling to work in a church such as this, being steeped with history and we are always very careful to fit a system that is both top quality, yet is small and efficient.

The church already had a sound and loop system but it was pretty old and did not give an adequate performance for all who attended this wonderful old church.

Old Barn Audio definitely did not want to disturb the aesthetics of the church so wanted to use top quality speakers that are compact and discreet. The new Martin Audio CDD range of speakers are ideal for this, so Neil chose to use 4 x Martin Audio CDD6 speakers in black for the nave. Only one CDD6 speaker was needed in the chancel, but this was installed in white to blend in with it’s surroundings. Then one further Martin Audio CDD5 installation in the cross wing of the church, means that the entire congregation will have perfect acoustics wherever they are seated.

Church Sound System Installation

With all relevant microphones and UHF radio systems installed that are necessary, as well as a top grade induction loop amplifier, OBA worked hard to ensure all systems are now up to date and consistent throughout the church.

Using an iPad and a wifi router for centralisation of the church sound system, means that the sound can be adjusted from any position using iPad technology.

So yet another successful church sound system installation for Old Barn Audio.
